Chiang Dao Hospital Delivery Ward

Today at Chiang Dao Hospital we took an extensive look at the child delivery ward.

This area is used by trained nurses in the delivery of newborns.  Many pregnant mothers travel to this location both Thai and foreign.  Foreign mothers can take advantage of the hospitals care at little or no cost.

This room contained a row of delivery beds where multiple mothers can give birth simultaneously.  In a situation where a mother were to need a Caesarean section, they would have to be transported to the nearest hospital located over an hour away.  This hospital was not equipt to perform certain surgical procedures.

Most of the technology was up to date as  one of the nurses showed us how they monitor the unborn child's heart rate.
